Considering my auto- immune disease and other health issues have the potential to get worse, I worry a lot. To balance some of my anxieties, I try to utilize those 20 minutes or less in my doctors offices by addressing some of my concerns. I ask questions about my medications, treatments, MRIβs and labs. I will not be silent; this is my life!Β
I keep a journal to log any changes (not always consistent) in my blood sugars, weight, and medications and the medications possible side effects. I also log how I am feeling that day. Keeping a journal helps me keep track of my labs, X-ray’s, C-scans and treatments.Β
Β I go to the internet for most of my medical information. The medical information on the internet is phenomenal! There are many medical websites, but I stick with the ones that I can trust. In addition to the incredible resources on the internet, I have a group of women I can turn to. Sometimes I just need someone to talk to that can understand what I might be going through.Β Β
Finally, I do realize that my doctors are the ones who attended medical school, so I guess that makes them the experts. However, they are not God, and their choice of suggested medical treatments might not always be right for me. Thatβs why I try to stay informed and up to date on my illnesses. Unfortunately, I know that despite all the medications and treatments, things can still turn out ugly. However, I am going to always pray that things get better, not worse.Β

Until the Next Blog, Be Blessed!
