Xanax and my Heart Medicine

I have heart disease, and I take several heart meds. I also have Xanax for my anxiety.
I recently found out that Xanax and one of my heart meds together can lower my blood pressure. I don’t want that to happen because my blood pressure is already low at times. Also, Xanax and one of my heart meds can lower my heart rate. So, it only makes sense that I am skeptical about taking the two meds together, even though my cardiologist said Xanax is okay to take with my heart medicine.
When I have taken Xanax (1mg), I am usually out of commission(sleepy) for a couple of days. That is one of the reasons I don’t care for Xanax. Then, add the heart medicine to the mix; I am somewhat suspicious(lower heart rate) of its effects on my heart.
I trust my cardiologist; however, my gut is telling me to try something natural for my anxiety. I heard that vitamins B, C, magnesium, and zinc lower anxiety risk, as well as aromatherapy, melatonin, and lemon balm tea, which is said to be great for anxiety. Then If I still need something more (after trying the above), I will visit my primary care physician and have her prescribe something for me: medicine and its side effects.

Until the next blog, be blessed.
