Update-Coming to Terms with My Changing Eyesight

On July 11, 2026, I wrote about how the changes in my eyesight were becoming frustrating and, as a writer, challenging.

I wrote that I was going to have a cataract consultation. On Friday, I had my cataract consultation and a full eye exam. Before this appointment, I knew something was going on with my right eye, but I didn’t know what it was. I just knew things were cloudy and my vision was strange.

After the exam and consultation, it was decided that cataract surgery was needed for my right eye. My left eye does not need surgery.

I don’t like having to wait until December, but I am looking forward to being able to see clearly out of my right eye. For now, I have to be patient with myself because my eyes are not what they once were.
