Remembering COVID 19

I started receiving information about Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the news at the end of 2019. I wondered if the virus would affect anyone here in the United States. However, I didn’t think much of it because the nightly news reported that the virus was in China.

In 2020, it seemed like everyone was getting sick from the virus, and people were dying across the United States. I was 63 years old at the time, and I had never lived through anything like Coronavirus. I was scared.

THE NATION WAS FORCED TO MAKE CHANGES OVERNIGHT. We were told to wear masks, stay away from people, and remain in our homes. Six feet apart! Jobs shut down. It was like a movie I had yet to see.

I think everyone was afraid of everyone. I KNOW I WAS.

In May 2022, I tested positive for COVID-19. I was devastated and scared. It was extremely painful! My head, my back, my chest—my entire body felt like it was on fire.

After I came home from the doctor, I tried to get comfortable in my bed, but it was impossible. To make matters worse, I couldn’t take the medication prescribed for COVID-19. I can’t remember why. Instead, I was prescribed cough syrup with codeine and prednisone.

COVID-19 was so painful for me, and that is why I still wear a mask today.

One night, I was lying in bed watching a television show about people’s experiences with angels. The people on the show talked about how their angels had protected them in various situations. As I listened to their stories, I decided to pray to God for help.

I remember praying between breaths, asking God to send me an angel. I needed an angel to help me feel better.

I prayed until I fell asleep, and I woke up around 5:00 in the morning. I felt lighter. I wasn’t in as much pain, especially in my chest, and I no longer had a headache.

“Thank You, Jesus!” was all I could say, over and over and over again! I still had a little cough, and I was tired, but other than that, I felt okay.

I still had COVID-19, but I felt that my angel had made it more manageable. I stayed in bed for several days and continued taking my cough syrup and prednisone.

I was so grateful to God and thankful for my angel. I had prayed for relief, and when I woke up that morning feeling better, my heart was filled with gratitude. I realizes that there really are ANGELS out there to protect us.
