Resetting My Life!
I’ve been in my head the last few weeks, trying to figure life out. However, I am trying once again to reset my life by doing a few things differently and revisiting some old habits that I know are good for me.
One of those things is moving my body. I have been going back to the gym in the mornings and taking walks with my grandchildren and one of my daughters. I’m not going to lie—when I wake up in the morning, the gym is the last place I want to go. My body aches because of my RA, but I get up anyway, take a hot shower, get dressed, and head out.
Even after I get there, I’m still not excited about being at the gym. But I know it’s exactly where I need to be, especially with my health issues. Honestly, I would rather walk than go to the gym. I love being outside, probably because I’m in the house so much. Maybe that’s it…who knows?
My diet is something I still struggle with, but I have come a long way. I still have work to do, especially since I am diabetic. I haven’t completely given up fried foods. I love my fried mushrooms and cauliflower. I don’t eat them all the time, but I still enjoy them occasionally. I do eat vegetables, just not with every meal—usually a couple of times a week. Even so, I am grateful because I’m not where I used to be.
I could pray more, even though I pray every day. I think I need to spend more time meditating with God and allowing Him to speak to me. Sometimes I don’t give prayer enough credit, even though I know it works. Prayer can do wonders on my journey to better health—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
I truly believe that when I combine movement, healthier eating, and prayer, I am giving myself the best opportunity to become healthier and stronger, one day at a time.
What is one small change you’re making to reset your life or to do something differently? I’d love to hear about it in the comments. Let’s continue to encourage one another- one day at a time.
Until the Next Blog, Be Blessed!
